Here is a list of the most frequently asked questions I get about this blog. They’re in no particular order, but #1 is definitely the most frequently asked question. If your question isn’t here, shoot me an email and I’ll be happy to answer it or add it here!
1. How did you come up with the name for your blog?
I had just moved to NYC and I knew I wanted to talk about my adventures here. I knew most of it was going to be fashion-based with a little bit of lifestyle thrown in, so I thought…what do I love the most? I love shoes…I have a collection that could rival some celebrities; I love shirts (I hate pants, I always buy new tops) and then there’s everything else…other sh*t. I knew I’d never get anywhere spelling out sh*t, so I changed it to sh!t to be a little more playful.
2. Where is your home base? You cover information in tons of different places.
Home base is in New York City (at least for now). I grew up in Western Massachusetts and I cover some things that happen when I go to visit my parents there. I also try to stay as relevant as possible because I know I have readers all over the country (and the world, for that matter), so if I hear of something interesting happening anywhere else, I try to write about it.
3. What kind of camera do you use?
Nothing special (I don’t even have an SLR…which I’m embarrassed to admit). It’s a Canon Powershot SD1400 IS. I have experience in photography though, and I usually use the camera’s custom settings. If it were cheaper and quicker to develop film, I’d use my 35mm Minolta…digital camera’s have nothing on traditional photography.
4. If I want to contact you regarding a product or service that I’d like you to try, how can I do that?
Please visit my contact page.
5. What are your favorite blogs? Can I be added to your blogroll?
My favorite blogs are the ones listed on my blogroll on the right sidebar of the homepage. I read these blogs almost every day, which is why they appear there and some of them are bloggers that are also friends of mine. You’re more than welcome to send along a link to your blog for me to check out, but I don’t participate in link exchanges; if I really enjoy you blog, I may add it to my blogroll.
6. Do you support sponsorship opportunities and advertising?
Yes, absolutely! If I feel that your brand/business/product etc. is relevant to my readers, I would love to work together. I do not, however, participate in sponsored posts or link exchanges. Please find all the details about sponsorship and advertising opportunities here.
7. How do you create your collages and gift guides?
I usually use Corel Paintshop (which is very similar to Adobe Photoshop, but a lot less expensive), but I’ve also used Snagit and Picnik.
8. I’m visiting New York and I’m looking for some recommendations where to go and what to eat. What do you suggest?
Shoot me an email with some of the details, such as what neighborhood you’re staying in, where you’re already planning to visit and I’ll do my best to get back to you with some recommendations until I compile a comprehensive list.
9. Which flea markets do you go to?
I frequently visit the Hell’s Kitchen Flea Market in Hells Kitchen/Clinton, and the Brooklyn Flea which bounces around in Williamsburg and Fort Greene throughout the year. I also visit the Antiques Garage in Chelsea (a subdivision of Hell’s Kitchen Flea) and the market that is almost directly across the street from the Antiques Garage on Saturdays and Sundays.
