Night Moves

Yellow Peacoat-Tommy Hilfiger, Ruffled Jacket (underneath)-INC (at Macy's), Lace Top-Charlotte Russe, Dress-My Tribe, Tights-Apt 9 (at Kohls), Suede Gloves- Pins & Needles (at Urban Outfitters), Moto Booties-White Mountain, Pyramid Studded Bag-Kathy Van Zeeland, Necklace-Vintage

Anywhere I go lately (at least in MA) has turned into a fashion circus (hello, I have 3 pops of color!), but I went all out for a night out in Noho (Northampton, MA) with two of my best friends from home. For some reason, whenever we go out, we all get dolled up, even if it’s 5 degrees (literally, it was 5 degrees last night) or even if we’re not going anywhere special. The teal gloves were a late addition: I forgot gloves and I needed to go to Urban Outfitters anyways. I originally picked up a pair of safe-looking black, cashmere gloves with a few beads, and then convinced myself to go back for this way more fun pair (only $9.99!). The yellow and teal proved to be just the pops of color I needed to make this otherwise fairly normal outfit, have a little more flair.

My other fun outfit piece was definitely the ruffled mini-jacket underneath. I picked that off the clearance racks at Macy’s last weekend for $14…what a steal! I wore my moto mini boots (last seen here) for a little height, but still have the necessary traction for the slippery sidewalks. Even though it’s a little small for me, I’ve been carrying this Kathy Van Zeeland bag that I got for Christmas (last seen here), it holds everything and is big on style.

Snow Day

Hat- Pins & Needles (at Urban Outfitters), Tee-Velvet by Graham & Spencer, Cardigan-Gap, Leggings-Forever 21, Leg Warmers-H&M (circa 2009), Boots-UGG, Necklace & Ring-Vintage

As if there hasn’t been enough snow falling from the sky here lately…it snowed again today. In my final week of snow-torture in Massachusetts (where it’s apparently okay not to plow if the kids don’t have school), they’re predicting another storm. Get me to a tropical beach… please!

Today’s storm only accumulated a few inches, but it was on top of a layer of ice from Tuesday’s storm, so it made the roads a little unsafe, especially with my already shaky driving skills. I woke up not feeling 100% anyways, and decided I’d work from my home office at my parents’ house, which I think was a fairly wise idea. I had to take Izzie out anyways, so I decided, “why don’t I get to play in the snow too?”

Ms. Izzie sure loves the snow! Her sweater is Petrageous.

High-Heeled Winter Boots

There’s plenty of cold, white stuff on the ground to last for a while, at least here in Massachusetts. (Yes, I am still at my parents house. I will return to NYC very soon!) This winter seems to be much colder than the last few winters I remember and this is definitely the most snow at once that we’ve gotten in years (close to 2 ft!).

I’ve been dying to wear these toughened-up heels, perfect for the winter weather (they’re fleece-lined and have tracks on the bottom), but from the reactions I got today, you’d think people around here never saw a girl wear a pair of heels before. My Starbucks barista noted, “you’re taller than me today!” Yes, I was taller than him in them… And a woman behind me in line at Target said, “I have to ask you, how are those to walk in?”

So………………… maybe they were a bit much to run my errands in, but they were perfect for playing in the snow!

Dreary Day

What I thought seemed like a nice day, was actually super dreary and overcast with a few drops of rain. I decided to cozy up a little, but still counteract the weather with this bright, spring-y denim skirt and blue eyeliner. I feel like this skirt is really girly and the t-shirt underneath has a very light, flowy pink and white chiffon applique with beads, so I paired them with my leather ankle boots and motorcycle jacket to toughen it up a little.
