Get the Look: Jenna Ushkowitz’s hair by Theodore Leaf for Suave!

Suave Celebrity stylist Theodore Leaf said, “We had so much fun creating Jenna’s major ponytail for the 2011 Emmy Awards the look was certainly inspired by her dramatic gown. When we were testing it out we kept going higher and higher until we got the perfect drama, she was loving all of that height and hair! There is a certain fun energy you have when you can swing your hair back and forth!”

Jenna Ushkowitz arrives at the 63rd Annual Emmy Awards

1. To re-create this dramatic pony you want to start by getting your hair smooth. Use a small amount of the Suave Professionals Anti-Frizz cream and blowdry in sections.

2. Once your hair is smoothed out lay your head back and begin brushing from the top of the ears up to get the ponytail really high. When you have it in the right spot secure with a hair color-matching elastic (do not pull the ponytail tighter–this will mess the pony up)

3. Now apply a very small amount of Suave Professionals Mens Wet the Look Gel to the sides and back and use a comb to incorporate the flyaways– the drama of this look is all in the finishing.

4. Finally, spray the length of the ponytail with the Suave Professionals Vibrant Shine Spray and press with a hot flat iron to finish. Tip: If you need some extra length or fullness attach an extension (that matches your color) with a few bobby pins at the base.

Get the Look: Dianna Agron’s hair by Suave at the 63rd Annual Emmy Awards

Jenny Cho, Suave Professionals Celebrity Stylist gives Dianna Agron a graceful, romantic up-do. “My inspiration for Dianna was the classic Grace Kelly. I wanted a hint of wave around her face to give her that elegance. Dianna recently cut her hair into a shaggy bob, but anything is possible when you have the right products,” says Cho.

Dianna Agron arriving at the 63rd Annual Emmy Awards

  1. Mist Suave Professionals Volumizing Root Boost Spray all over and layer on Suave Professionals Sleek Anti-Frizz Cream for a polished finish. The spray is great for creating texture to give hair some grit. Create a side part and blow dry with a small round brush.
  2. With a medium-sized curling iron, curl the heavy side vertically and pin to cool. Spray each section with Suave Professionals Touchable Finish Lightweight Hold Hairspray.
  3. Spray Suave Professionals Dry Shampoo  on the rest of the hair. Take a 1 1/2 inch section in the back and make a ponytail. Tease the ends and pin away.
  4. Tease the crown area and gently brush to create a bump. Mist a little hairspray and incorporate the ends into the bun and pin. Pull the sides into the bun as well.
  5. Once cool, unpin curls and with a small Mason Pearson brush, lightly brush out the curls, creating a soft bend. All you want is a little lift and softness around the front. Mist the whole shape with Suave Professionals Touchable Finish Extra Hold Hairspray for an all-night hold.

All products used on Dianna are SSOS tested and approved! We love to the Suave Professionals line!

Get the Look: Hilary Swank’s Hair by MoroccanOil® at the 17th Annual SAG Awards

Hilary Swank at the 17th Annual SAG Awards

“Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role” nominee and award presenter Hilary Swank wore her hair long, loose and sexy for the SAG Awards tonight.  Wearing a soft, champagne-colored Versace gown, she looked red-carpet ready.

The “Conviction” actress’ gorgeous hair was designed by leading Hollywood stylist, Robert Vetica, who was inspired by the sensual lines of her dress and the hairstyles of iconic 60’s Hollywood siren and Bond girl, Ursula Andress.

Vetica shared how he created the look:

“I started by blow-drying Hilary’s hair using Moroccanoil® Treatment to instantly condition, bring any dry ends back to life and make her hair easier to style.  It also gave the hair a brilliant, natural-looking shine.

After the hair was dried, I did a full head set by curling 1” by 1” sections of hair, starting at the nape of the neck, then pinned to the head. These were real, full base curls, not spiral curls.  I continued section by section until I reached the crown, then finished the sides and top of the head. When I finished, it had the look of a 60’s roller set, which could have been done using hot rollers.

I gave the set a good spray of Moroccanoil® Luminous Hairspray and let it sit for 20 minutes, to insure a good, healthy-looking set.

Tofinish, I removed the set and gave it a good brushing. Next, I took a smallamount of Moroccanoil® Hydrating Styling Cream to give the hair a touch of weight and ensure body.

I then gave the hair a good backcombing at the root and sprayed again. I brushed out most of the backcombing except at the crown, running my fingers through thehair to loosen it up. I then backcombed a bit more at the crown, gave it another spray and lightly brushed over the top.”

Get the Look: Amy Adams Easy Updo with Moroccan Oil at the 68th Golden Globes

Golden Globes nominee for Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in a Feature Film, Amy Adams, looked radiant as she wore a gorgeous strapless Marchesa gown with her fabulous red hair worn in a flowing, back-braided updo created by celebrity stylist Laini Reeves.

Laini tells us the inspiration behind Amy’s look and exactly how easy it is to recreate!

“I wanted to create a soft 20’s mood, but in a different, modern way.  We started by changing the texture of her hair before we went on to loosely braid and roll the chignon.

Amy has a beautiful, full and thick head of hair and a nice, natural wave. We started by washing her hair with Moroccanoil® Moisture Repair Shampoo which infuses the hairwith argan oil, keratins, fatty acids, and proteins. Combined with Moroccanoil® Moisture Repair Conditioner, it immediately controlled the hair and left it smoother, frizz-free and easy to manage and style.

I then applied Moroccanoil® Hydrating Styling Cream while it was drying, from root to end to give soft hold while further smoothing the texture and adding definition and shine.  I rough-dried (meaning a brush wasn’t used only her hands) the hair with my hands to get the water out and created a bit of a messed up texture with a slight touch of wave for a more modern, freer look.  The hair was air dried except at the roots, where I used a blow dryer.

Next, I used a 1” curling iron to make curls in different parts of the hair that needed to be filled in and then smoothed and blended them in.  I made a side part and prepared some pieces from the front of the hair to frame her face, pinning them in an “S”-shape and away from the rest of the hair.

I gathered and pulled back the rest of hair, made a loose braid that I doubled up, rolled upwards and pinned at the nape, with the cross texture side of the braid showing.  Only five thick bobby pins were used to secure the style in place.

Finally, I released the “S”-shaped sections in the front and pinned them behind the ear to open her face up and to show off her cheek bones.  I then sprayed the look with Moroccanoil® Luminous Hairspray to keep everything in place with movable shine, without looking like it was sprayed.”

Get the Look: Easy A’s Emma Stone stuns in mark Cosmetics at the 68th Golden Globes

Celebrity Makeup Artist Mai Quynh created Emma Stone’s red carpet face, inspired by the peach Calvin Klein dress she chose for the 68th Golden Globe Awards. She explains how she created Emma’s Red Carpet look:

Face:
“I started by applying mark Calm & Composed Moisturizer all over her skin.  Next, I used mark Face Xpert in Honey and applied it with the foundation brush.  I put mark Good Riddance Concealer in Light/Medium around her nose and under her eyes and blended it with the concealer brush.  I set her foundation with mark Powder Buff in Natural using a powder brush. After the powder was set, I dusted on mark Bronze Pro Powder in Pro Glow using an angled contour face brush. I applied this bronzer to her cheeks, forehead and chin. Then I added a powder blush; I dusted mark Good Glowing Blush in After Glo on her cheeks by using the angled contour face brush.”

Eyes:
“I applied I-mark eyeshadow in Biscotti using the all over eyeshadow brush to her inner eyelid.  Then, using the eyeshadow brush, I applied I-mark eyeshadow in Gioia to her middle and outer eyelid, from the lashline to her crease.  I used the angled contour eyeshadow brush to blend Gioia into the crease of the eyelid.  As a liner, I applied I-mark eyeshadow in Java along the upper lashline using the hookup eyeliner brush. I smudged Gioia along the bottom lashline using the hookup eyeliner brush. To finish the eyes, I used two coats of mark Lash Splash Mascara in Black.

Lips:
“I used mark Lipclick Full Color Lipstick in Bare Hug.”
