It’s Me, Erika.

I’m Erika. My real, long Armenian name is Erika Belezarian and my stage name is Erika Leigh (my middle name). I don’t need anything formal though, so my pals call me E, Er, Erbear, Erbelezair, Elle (my first and middle initials are EL=Elle) and whatever else they think I might respond to. I’m a college senior(ish)…you know, like Van Wilder, at John Jay College of Criminal Justice, majoring in Deviance Studies (Behavioral Analysis) with minors in Anthropology and Theatre. And in case you didn’t think I had enough on my plate, I’m also on the road that (hopefully) leads  to a successful Broadway and acting career.

That's me!

Being a behavioral analyst is my “real-life” career path, but my passions lie in singing, dancing and acting.

I’m in beautiful New York, NY and Frank Sinatra once said “If I can make it here, I’ll make it anywhere.” So far, I haven’t made much of anything except for frozen dinners, piles of bills and a huge mess of my things in my severely undersized apartment.

As someone who performed in two audition-only groups in high school, and studied music like it was my job, I’ve had difficulty finding the time to sing in college. The good news is that I discovered a group to sing with in school, have a friend who’s encouraging me to help her write a musical and perform in my own cabarets, and have had some really great learning opportunities in singing and acting since I’ve been in New York.

In addition to my grandiose dreams of a Broadway career, I also have an immense love for fashion, style, and beauty. I’m known for my critiques of celebrity fashion and trying my hardest to emulate my favorite looks. I’m obsessed with all things beauty, and you will find my critiques here. I have the largest makeup, beauty and hair care collection of anyone I know (my mom can probably attest to this!)..boxes upon boxes, upon boxes of things I’ve tried and loved and those I’ve tried and hated, but still chosen to hold on to (hey, you never know!). You can trust that my reviews are honest, because many of the products reviewed here will be things I’ve purchased myself or that I already own.

This blog is an insight into the fashion, beauty and lifestyle tips that I find help me navigate my way through New York City. It may help you find your favorite party recipe, a new lip gloss, a new designer to swear by, your new Friday-night “hot-spot”, or even a way to ease your morning commute with the MTA!
